This summer, the Chicago Police Department found Oscar and Emmy in an abandoned building. The two were severely underweight and in need of medical attention. Oscar, the white pup, probably didn’t have much time left at all.
He was so malnourished that he had hypophosphatemia, which happens when your body does not have enough phosphorous.
Consequently, his heart, blood cells, muscle tissue and brain cells were not receiving adequate amounts of oxygen. His liver was already on the verge of failing.
