Retired NJ Cops Pet dog Provided Touching Farewell


Judge, a nine-year-old German Shepherd, served with New Jersey cops for several years however was forced to retire as his health got worse.

A cops dog has been provided a hero’s goodbye – with scores of police officers giving him the salute – before being put down.

Some 30 cops lined the street outside a medical facility in New Jersey to bid farewell. About a lots fellow police canines were also in attendance.

Judge, a nine-year-old German Shepherd, was a retired cops dog at West Deptford Township.

He needed to retire in August 2013 due to physical ailments, consisting of issues with his teeth, according to a local report in

Judge had begun his career in law enforcement in 2007 and had been deployed about 280 times, the report said.

Starting in November, the pet dog’s health started weakening sharply.

Thanks to a charity event the township was able to cover the soaring medical expenses, which pertained to more than $10,000.

With Judge not able to eat and progressively debilitated, veterinaries thought it was best to put him down at the Swedesboro Animal Hospital.
